LGBTI Pride Week, talks with groups of people with disabilities, round tables on the deputation of El Beal and screenings and exhibitions on historical memory are some of the most important activities of the second quarter of 2019 of the Cartagena Piensa program.
This program is organized by the Department of Culture of the City of Cartagena.
The mayor of Culture of the city, David Martínez, has presented the activities of the new quarter.
He has been accompanied by: the vice-rector of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena Beatriz Miguel Hernández;
the representative of the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Murcia and of the Society of Philosophy of the Region of Murcia Juan Manuel Zaragoza;
the representative of the disabled groups Ginés Marín;
the director of the IES Isaac Peral José Martínez;
the representative of the Galactyco Collective José María García;
the representative of the Association of Historical Memory of Cartagena Bernardo Sánchez;
the representative of the Department of Sociology of the University of Murcia Marcos Bote and the representative of the Federation of Neighborhood Associations of Cartagena and Comarca Juani Martínez.
The Councilor for Culture of Cartagena, David Martinez, stressed that "Cartagena Piensa has achieved in a journey of just three years become a reference model of public programs of culture to achieve introducing into society the debate and reflection of many Capital issues that concern citizens and do it with quality interlocutors, in a participatory and horizontal manner, with proposals for all groups and all ages. "
One of the novelties this quarter in Cartagena Piensa is the inclusion of groups of people with disabilities in their activities for the next three months.
There will be a round table on Thursday, May 23 at 7:30 p.m. at the Higher Technical School of Agronomists of Cartagena.
Also highlights the talk 'Sexuality and disability', on Friday, May 24 at 7:30 pm at the Higher Technical School of Agronomists of Cartagena.
Another novel issue with respect to previous quarters of Cartagena Piensa is the LGBTI Pride.
This group will collaborate at the end of June with several activities.
On Saturday, June 22 at 7:00 pm at Athenas Club, the film 'As I Am' will be screened on sexual diversity.
On Monday, June 24 at 7:30 p.m. a round table will be held in the Assembly Hall of the Roman Theater Museum of Cartagena on LGTBI majors.
In addition, on Tuesday, June 25 at 7:30 p.m., the Auditorium of the Roman Theater Museum of Cartagena broadcasts the documentary "Sentenciados sin juicio".
Among other activities, also highlight the talks on urbanism that will be held in the deputation of El Beal.
On Thursday, May 2 at 7:00 p.m., the Village House of El Llano del Beal will host a colloquium on cultural and mining heritage of this area of ​​the municipality.
On Thursday, May 16 at 7:00 pm there will be a round table at the same place on development alternatives in the towns of the Beal deputation.
There will be walks in Estrecho de San Ginés, El Beal and El Llano del Beal to see problems and propose solutions.
The Days on Historical Memory will also occupy space in the quarterly program of Cartagena Piensa.
On Wednesday, May 22 at 8:00 pm in the Auditorium of El Luzzy, the documentary 'El silencio de otros' will be screened.
On Friday, May 3 at 7:30 p.m., the exhibition 'The photographer of horror' will open in the Palacio de Molina.
The IES Isaac Peral also continues to celebrate its 50th anniversary within the quarterly program of Cartagena Piensa with conferences of former students on climate change or the universe.
