On the occasion of Holy Week 2019, Choir Tomás Luis de Victoria will offer two concerts this April at the Basilica of Charity.
These activities have the collaboration of the Department of Culture of the City of Cartagena.
The first concert will take place on Tuesday, April 2 at 7:00 p.m.
That day the Choir Tomás Luis de Victoria will perform the traditional Salve.
On Friday, April 12 at 11 am, day of the Virgin of Charity, Patroness of Cartagena, this group will perform the Sung Mass Quarti Toni by Tomás Luis de Victoria and several motets: Ave Verum (Mozart), Jeusu Bleibet (Bach) , Tenebrae facte Sunt (M. Hyden) among others.
The Choral Mass "Tomás Luis de Victoria" of Cartagena began its activities in 1945, being consolidated as a choir in the spring of 1946. He has taken his repertoire throughout Spain and also in Italy, Belgium (Europelia 1985), Germany (275th Anniversary) of the foundation of the port of Duisburg in 1991), France (International Festival of Villers sur Mer - Normandy in 1992) and Andorra (2009).
Choral Tomás Luis de Victoria has recorded six discs with Spanish Renaissance music (profane and religious), Christmas carols from the different Spanish autonomous communities, works of Marian character from the Region of Murcia, and foreign madrigals.
