The Project Selection Committee of the Mucho Mas Mayo Festival has selected 25 artistic projects from a total of 122 from different countries and all over Spain that have been submitted to the public announcement of the corresponding edition in 2019.
The selected projects will be approved by the Municipal Government Board and will be part of the final program of the X edition of the Much More May Festival that is celebrated this year between May 10 and 21, and whose motto is "The face of the other .
Art and Hospitality ".
The total resources allocated to these projects is € 25,000.
The selection committee was composed of the Councilor for Culture, David Martínez Noguera, the Director of Culture, Fulgencia Plazas Torres, the Coordinator of Culture, Patricio Hernández Pérez, as secretary of the commission, Ana Maruenda Robles, and experts from other sectors cultural as the artist, Elena Azzedín, the teacher of the ETSAE, Patricia Reus and the artist Jesús Segura Cabañero, valuing the different projects.
The 25 selected correspond to very different creative languages, counting among them with several installations, proposals of conceptual art, experimental theater, performance, contemporary dance, photography, visual arts, mural painting, perfopoesía, etc.
The final program of Much More May in addition to these projects, will be composed of the fixed sections of the festival (One Urban World, Short Week, Much More Music, Training Laboratories, Contemporary Dance), the program dedicated to educational centers (Arte al Centro ), and the Barrios program, in this case six neighborhoods of the city (San Antón, Los Dolores, Bda. Virgen de la Caridad, Barrio Peral, José María Lapuerta, Santa Lucía, Barrio Concepción), who have participated in previous editions of the Festival and that are working with Cultural Associations and work with migrants and refugees living in those neighborhoods.
The Festival will conclude on May 21, International Day of Cultural Diversity.
