More than a thousand people have gathered today at the Higher Technical School of Industrial Engineering on the occasion of the Open Doors Conference of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT).
Families with children and students of Secondary and Bachiller have had the opportunity to learn about the competition teams, associations, services, facilities, academic offer and work opportunities.
Robotics, Augmented Reality, Biomedicine, Electronics or Mathematics to discover the world, have been some of the 17 workshops in which more than 400 people have participated.
Professors and technicians of the UPCT have offered information about scholarships, international mobility programs, entrepreneurship programs, volunteering, sports and research, among other services.
The guided visits have allowed the thousand of attendees to know the facilities, the university residence and the different centers of the UPCT.
After the Day, attendees have been able to participate in a tourist route that has toured the most emblematic points of the Roman and modernist Cartagena, such as the Roman Theater or the Panoramic Elevator, as well as a tour on the Tourist Boat.
They have also been able to enjoy a tasting of typical tapas and cauldron of the Mar Menor.
In addition, the program 'El Rompeolas' of the Onda Regional radio station has been broadcasting live throughout the day, with guests such as the Rector of the UPCT, Alejandro Díaz Morcillo, as well as teachers and students of the teaching institution.
Solidarity has also had a gap in this Open Door Day.
The solidarity coffee of this edition has raised more than 6,000 euros to benefit the Association of Relatives of Alzheimer's Disease of Cartagena and District (AFAL).
