As indicated by the Electoral Law, the City of Cartagena held on Saturday, March 30, the usual public drawing for the appointment of the members of the 259 polling stations that will be installed in the municipality of Cartagena during the next general elections of the 28th of April.
The draw, which lasted barely five minutes, was held in an extraordinary plenary session presided over by the mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, and by means of a mathematical formula applied later, the 2,331 citizens have been indicated through the voter registration lists. who will act as presidents, members and alternates.
The draw has been done informally and has indicated three numbers from 1 to 999, which have been applied by the Municipal Data Processing Center to the alphabetical lists of each of the districts of the tables that will be installed in the municipality .
For each table nine people have been designated: a titular president and his two alternates, in addition to two regular members and four substitutes.
The number that has come out to extract the presidents has been 826;
for the first vowels, 303 and for the second vowels, 636. The first substitutes will be obtained by discounting successively 5 those numbers to avoid that the designated ones are members of the same family;
and the second substitutes, adding successively 5.
The list of selected will be sent by the City Council today to the Electoral Board, which will be in charge of ordering its notification by the Local Police.
Agents are scheduled to begin notifying the designations on Sunday at the homes of the appointees, who will have a period to claim.
According to the electoral legislation, the office of president and member of the polling stations is a right and a civic duty, which can only be excused due to incompatibility or force majeure, duly accredited.
In return, presidents and members receive individual diets.
The census for these general elections in the municipality of Cartagena is composed of 152,723 voters, 1,046 more than in the past of June 2016.
The polling stations will be located in the same locations of the last elections.
In these there will be four more polling stations: three having unfolded other existing ones as in the cases of the Barriada Virgen de la Caridad and the Polígono de Santa Ana;
and one of new creation in Tallante.
