The Auditorium and Conference Center El Batel will host on April 4 the charity concert of the IES Juan Sebastián Elcano organized within the commemorative events for its 40th anniversary and will be in charge of the Music Unit of the Third of Levante and the Band Symphony of the Manuel Massotti Superior Music Conservatory with the Elano choir and the collaboration of the Juvenis Música choir.
Education, culture and solidarity come together to offer a unique concert in which more than 400 musicians will participate whose benefits will go to children's charity associations such as the Pablo Ugarte Association (APU) against childhood cancer, ASIDO and Autismo Somos Todos.
The aim of the center was to celebrate its anniversary openly to the public and this is why the City Council wanted to collaborate by giving El Batel for this concert, which was presented on Friday, March 29 at a news conference at the Town Hall.
The presentation was made by the Councilor for Culture, David Martínez, accompanied by the director of IES Elcano, José Enrique García, the choir director of Elcano and Juvenis Music, Baltasar Sánchez, the director of the Conservatory Symphony Band, Javier Sanz and the Colonel Commander of the Third of Levante, Evaristo Gutiérrez.
The program is varied and enjoyable for all audiences and attend with the whole family.
The first part of this charity concert, which will be symphonic, will be starring El Tercio de Levante with the Symphonic Band of the Conservatory, which also celebrates its centenary this year, performing together for the first time and gathering more than 130 musicians on the stage. by Jaime Enguídanos.
While, in the second part, the choir of IES Elcano, which has 22 years since its formation, and Juvenis Música de Cartagena, will perform a baroque work, opera choirs and songs from the movie 'Los chicos del choro', among other.
This 40th anniversary of IES Elcano also coincides with the 5th centenary of the first round of the world of Magallanes Elcano.
The Colonel of the Tercio de Levante has dedicated his words to remember the history of Magellan and his return to the world and the importance of this date that commemorates the confirmation that the Earth was spherical.
The Navy has been linked to the center since its formation and this is why it has been involved in the celebration events of its anniversary as well as in various activities carried out throughout its history.
To conclude, the councilor wanted to invite everyone to this great event, "encourage all citizens that not only will they enjoy a magnificent concert but they will also be able to collaborate on this anniversary of IES Elcano and the 5th centenary of Around the world and also collaborate with these associations that work with children ".
The price of the tickets will be 5 euros and can be purchased at the Elcano IES, at the venues of the associations and at the box office.
A zero line has also been put in place for those who can not attend and want to collaborate with the associations.
