Manuel Padín: All the parties, except the PSOE, have supported a motion that has two objectives: to solve the space problems that have already forced the suspension of group therapies and to reorient, with the collaboration of AFAL, the protocol of searching for missing persons with vulnerable profiles

Citizens today managed to promote actions aimed at fulfilling the commitments made in the institutional declaration of the plenary session of September 7, 2017, "Cartagena city solidarity with Alzheimer's disease", and the commitment to collaborate with other public administrations to help the AFAL association , "for example, with the ridiculous space in which every day they try to develop their great work and that has forced to suspend group therapies and has generated a waiting list of almost 43 people for psychological and group and individual rehabilitation".
Due to lack of space, the last appointments to evaluate the patient in this association were made in July 2018.
In addition, the PSOE must also, despite its vote against, convene a Local Safety Board of an extraordinary nature, in which representatives of AFAL are invited to analyze the search protocols for missing persons with vulnerable profiles, such as the sick. Alzheimer's disease, detect existing faults and propose corrective measures for this type of situation.
The agreement has gone ahead with the support of all political parties, except the PSOE who has excused their support denying that there is any problem.
AFAL provides its services in a place of about 40 square meters and provided by the Murciano Institute of Social Action (IMAS) in the Alameda de San Antón, "an association that has 220 users who require a permanent space with about 600 square meters as minimum can not be 21 years working in these conditions, 21 years of bipartisan indifference, "says Padin.
"We are also talking about health functions that should correspond to the Ministry of Health, and also social functions that the City can and should protect and address," says the spokesman of Cs Cartagena denouncing that "on the one hand the regional government of PP has abandoned these socio-sanitary associations to their fate and the local Executive has not known, beyond the annual subsidies, to offer a solution to the lack of space for more than two decades. "
Missing people
Citizens believe that a Local Safety Board should be convened as soon as possible and that representatives of the AFAL Association be invited in an extraordinary way so that they can explain their experience with the protocols and the existing devices for searching for missing persons with vulnerable profiles, how are those affected by Alzheimer's.
"We have powerful reasons to think that they can improve considerably, and we know that AFAL is willing to provide solutions", informs the spokesman of the liberal training.
