The exhibition consists of fifty photographs by Jacinto Ayuso on previous editions of the solidarity summer campus that the Catholic University will hold again in August with volunteers in Lima, Callao and Iquitos, through its Institute of Charity and Volunteering John Paul II .
From today until April 30, Pavilion 1 of the Campus of the San Antonio Catholic University in Cartagena hosts a sample of fifty photographs taken by Jacinto Ayuso on the solidarity summer campuses that the UCAM has held for several summers in Lima, Callao and Iquitos (Peru) and that this month of August is intended to repeat.
The objective of the exhibition is to encourage the people of Cartagena and especially the students and workers of the Los Dolores Campus to be part of the Mission that the John Paul II Institute of Charity and Volunteering of the UCAM, sponsored by the Pontifical Council " UNUM COR for the human and Christian promotion "of the Holy See, has organized for a month this summer season.
Practices in hospitals and medical posts, as well as sociocultural workshops
This international volunteer program includes collaboration in juvenile centers through education activities, dialogue groups, leisure and free time;
visits to hospitals and health centers to learn about the Peruvian health system;
evangelization and catechesis, participating in missions with families;
visits to depressed areas of the suburbs of Lima and collaborations in educational centers and medical posts in Pachacútec, where socio-cultural workshops were also held.
The activity includes visiting the Amazon and collaborating in surrounding villages, evangelization through homes and volunteering in hospitals and medical posts, and the recognition of extracurricular practices as assistance that Nursing and Physiotherapy students of the Campus of Cartagena can provide.
