The neighborhood of Santa Lucia celebrates this Friday, March 29, its traditional Via Crucis where the images of Our Lady of Solitude and the Christ of the Crucified through the streets of the neighborhood will process on their shoulders.
The presentation of the poster as well as the news that the Vía Crucis presents this year was presented on Wednesday 27 by the mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, as former godmother last year, along with representatives of Los Mateos, Santa Lucia and Pinacho, in addition to the president of the Brotherhood of the Virgin of the Solitude of Monte del Calvario, Juan Antonio.
This year will have as a novelty that, for the first time, the Cristo Moreno de Los Mateos will make its way from the Castle of the Moors instead of the church of Santa Lucia, as had been done until then, to meet the Virgin during the same .
Prior to the tour, which will start at 9:00 pm, the faithful will be able to visit the Christ from 5 pm at the Castle.
The Virgin maintains her departure from the Church of Santiago Apóstol and will meet the Cristo Moreno in the street Era Baja about 21.45 hours to, thus, end the journey together to the temple of Santa Lucia.
Both will have seven steps prior to this meeting that will take place in the eighth of them.
From this, the image of the Christ will preside over the via crucis followed by the Virgin until the arrival at the church of both, scheduled for 22:15.
It will be Sunday 31st when the faithful accompany the Virgin in pilgrimage on their return to the hermitage of Mount Calvary that will leave at 9 o'clock in the morning after the Eucharist.
For its part, the church of Los Mateos will be open at 7:30 p.m. on Friday afternoon, where Pedro Hortelano, neighbor of the neighborhood, will explain the story of the Christ and his authorship, which is believed to be by Luis Ortega Bru, as well as the characteristics of both this image and the others in the church.

Virgen del Calvario: Departure from the Church of Santiago Apóstol, Santiago Street, Plaza Molina, Monroy Streets, Rodríguez Escoti and Era Baja.
Cristo del Crucificado: Departure from the Castle of the Moors, street Climbed to the castle, Borderán, Plaza Sebastián, streets of Levante, Matadero and Era Baja.
Together they will travel from the street Era Baja, the Plaza de la Constitución, Satiago street and collected in the Church.
