Next Sunday, April 6, the 1st Meeting of Climbers of Cartagena will take place in the Peral Neighborhood Pavilion organized by the Open Air Club of Cartagena, with the collaboration of the Chotacabras Club of San Javier and the Cartagena Excursionist Center, as well as with the support of the Department of Sports of the City of Cartagena.
On Wednesday, March 27, the informative round was held to present the event by the Councilor for Sports, Manuel Mora, accompanied by the president of the Aire Libre Cartagena club, Iván Alhama, as well as its vice president, Francisco Mata.
The club has more than 30 years of experience since its formation and has been focused in recent years on the promotion of this activity in schools within the school sports program organized by the council.
In the same way, last year they were in charge of reforming and modernizing the wall of the pavilion of Barrio Peral.
The meeting, promoted by the growing demand of those interested in this discipline in Cartagena, has as its main objective to promote the climb, which will be an Olympic sport from the following Olympics, as well as to put in contact those climbers who already have experience with the recently started
The day will take place in the morning from 9 o'clock in a competition format in order to bring the partners to the environment of the official tournaments, which will also serve to create club culture, promote the climb and organize future competitions within the regional circuit.
