The Local Police of Cartagena proceeded to control a total of 4,765 vehicles during the Campaign of surveillance and control of safety belts and child restraint systems, which was carried out in collaboration with the General Directorate of Traffic from the 11th to the 17th of March.
During this period, the police agents put a total of 42 complaints.
Local Police officers have controlled that passenger cars, taxis, buses and freight vehicles use the seat belt and child restraint systems correctly.
With this preventive campaign it has been tried to make all drivers and passengers aware that the safety belt is a basic and fundamental element of road safety and halves the risk of death in the event of an accident.
