The ASTUS residence of La Vaguada welcomed the graduation and delivery of diplomas to 40 students of the ADLE-ASTUS Joint Employment and Training Program on Monday, March 25, an initiative that aims to promote employment and has 28 years of experience. editions
The graduation was attended by the mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, the Councilor for Economic Strategy, Carmen Martín, the manager of the ADLE, Fulgencio Cerón, the director of the SEF, Severa González and the president of the Tutelary Association of the Person with Disability (ASTUS), Joaquín Barberá.
The mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, congratulated the students and asked that "trust in yourselves, do not allow anything or anyone to tell you that you are not prepared for a very competitive society because in addition to a diploma you have a qualification after having passed a series of tests and also do not allow anyone to tell you that you are not useful at all because you serve for a lot and from here you have come out the best ones ".
The 40 students have been trained for a year in 'Promotion and Societal Intervention with People with Disabilities', 'Socio-Health Care for Dependent People in Social Institutions' and 'Auxiliary Activities in Nurseries, Gardens and Garden Centers', with the aim that access the labor market.
Joaquín Barberá, president of ASTUS, pointed out that "we are grateful for the practices of the students since they have left their mark and a very high level as can be seen reflected in the garden of the senses in the center of La Resi or the posters that are in our facilities. "
During this year the student-workers have combined their training with the actual work done in the La Resi residence of ASTUS and in the Occupational Center of PROLAM-ASTUS, developing tasks related to each certificate of professionalism.
One of the students of the program has read a speech where she thanked the work of the trainers and the companionship of her colleagues and said that "they hope that with these certificates they can return to the labor market and can improve personally and professionally".
The director of SEF, Severa González, one of those in charge of handing out the diplomas to the students together with the mayor of Cartagena and the councilor for Economic Strategy, pointed out that ASTUS is "a regional reference", adding that "thanks to these certificates, students access a labor market that is demanding more professionals to serve people with vulnerability, difficulties and disabilities. "
After the delivery of diplomas, the students have handed the mayor of Cartagena, the Economic Strategy councilor, the manager of the ADLE, the director of the SEF, the president of the Guardianship Association of the Person with Disability (ASTUS) and the pink and white orchid trainers as a gift.
The graduation has ended with the trainers and the students tasting a canapé in the garden of the residence of ASTUS, in La Vaguada.
