The players of the senior team of the University Rugby Club of the city, visited on Thursday March 21, through the ADE Program of the Department of Sports, the Sagrada Familia school in Cartagena on the occasion of conducting a sports day for their students .
About 120 schoolchildren, between the ages of 14 and 15, had the opportunity to get a little closer to this sport that is so popular in our city.
The students who are currently in the 4th year of ESO started their classes with an explanatory talk by the team players.
They were in charge of awakening the attention of school children and where, in addition, they had the opportunity to understand a little more about this sport and were able to resolve their doubts and curiosities at the hands of the experts.
Veronica Ros and Maria Rosique, two players of the women's team, along with their teammates Dani Rosique, Adrián Caja, Blas Betancourt and Iván Contreras gave way to the second part of this activity, which consisted of performing various physical activities.
Divided into three groups with a couple of players each, the students could experience rugby with activities such as ball passes in pairs, tackles with training bags or melés.
During this session, which was divided into two shifts, photographs of all the participants were taken as a souvenir.
The participation of our sports professionals with boys and girls in schools has as a clear objective the approach of elite sport and the values ​​that this sport entails.
The companionship, the participation or the team feeling are some positive examples that the players of the team have wanted to show them, encouraging them so that their love for this sport grows even more.
The ADE program is organized by the Department of Sports of the City of Cartagena and the Official College of Graduates in Physical Education and Sports of the Autonomous Community.
