- Cs announces another of its objectives for 2019: an investment calendar to correct the deficiencies of parks and children's areas
Citizens has undertaken in recent months a review of parks and children's areas in the municipality of Cartagena, "and the balance can not be more negative and alarming," says the spokesman of Cs Cartagena, Manuel Padin, who recently inspected the Plaza of the Cerezo in La Palma, the children's area in the Antonio de Cabezón street in El Bohío, the children's area of the Vallejo Alberola municipal park, the Pineda del Mar Square in the Hispano-America neighborhood, the parks of the Media Legua, Los Barreros, or Torreciega among others, "they all share the consequences of the worst and most stale municipal policy possible, the one that leaves the maintenance of existing infrastructures to their fate and concentrates on inaugurating new zones to discover plates with the electoral appointment shortly before the electoral appointment. the name of the mayor on duty and call the local press. "
For Manuel Padín, "these abandoned spaces are also a serious danger and therefore that must always be the priority, safeguarding the safety of our children in the abandoned areas that exist, sealing the perimeters of those areas more deteriorated and order their conditioning" .
Citizens has committed to establish a census of these spaces with the description of their needs, the creation of an ordinance that regulates them, and a calendar of investments and actions in 2019 that will include the allocation of shade and sources of drinking water.
The Cs spokesman recalled that since February 13, 2017 there is a mandatory agreement to comply with the general revision of all playgrounds in the municipality, to ensure that they comply, among other things, with European regulations of safety and health.
This agreement, which was presented by Citizens, included a point by which the local Executive is obliged to develop a municipal ordinance that compiles the European regulations on safety in children's areas, including measures of accessibility and integration for those infants with mental or physical disabilities .
"After more than two years, the parks have not been reviewed, nor is the ordinance that should regulate their safety is being prepared," lamented Manuel Padín.
Cs Cartagena also moved forward in the April 2017 plenary session a motion to urge the City Council to adhere to the Spanish Association of Parks and Public Gardens (AEPJP) which, together with other entities, has published a decalogue of 'Parque 10', with regulations on facilities and furniture in these public facilities, due to the existence only of European regulations, but not state or autonomous, "neither are we inside, nor are we expected".
Citizens managed to promote another plenary agreement in June 2017 for the City of Cartagena to plan and detect how many children's areas are without shade to provide trees, if there are beds that allow it, or awnings and pergolas, in addition to providing them with water sources "nothing has been done in this regard, the plenary agreements during this term, especially those promoted by opposition parties, are useless."
