On the occasion of the Fiestas de San José of the UPCT, the Technical Office of the Municipal Plan on Addictions and Drug Addiction (PMAD) of the City of Cartagena launched a series of prevention actions.
The university event was attended by some 6,000 young people who, among other activities, could participate in some of those organized from the PMAD as "The photo of before", a giant photocall with "message".
The goal is to reflect on the possibility of enjoying the party without abusing alcohol and other drugs, where the important thing is to have fun but controlling and making responsible use.
'The photo from before' reflects how you get to a party, in good condition, controlling the situation, being aware of the state of yourself and of others.
In addition, he says that if you want you can continue like this until the end of the party enjoying it but without getting to the complications that can cause an abusive intake of alcohol and other drugs (violence, fights, risky sex, among others).
In short, it is intended to create a "Consciousness of Responsible Use".
This activity was supported by flyers with tips on the responsible use of alcohol.
Another activity that was also well received by young people was based on symbolic measurements of alcohol.
More than 200 were made before the end of the event, so that the youngsters knew their blood alcohol level.
Surveys were also conducted among the university community to learn about the use of their free time and collect data and information to improve the offer of Leisure and Alternative Free Time for young people in Cartagena.
The PMAD has carried out these actions in collaboration with the Local Police, the Department of Youth and Youth Red Cross of Cartagena, and are included among the lines of work of the Municipal Plan on Addictions and Drug Addictions.
