The mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, has been in charge of inaugurating this day and has indicated that the figure of Local Development agents, one of the issues discussed throughout the day, are fundamental as they make it possible for " Cartagena continues to be a pioneer in the Region of Murcia in terms of Employment and Entrepreneurship ".
The agents of Local Development are those workers of the local corporations or entities linked to the Local Administration whose objective is to promote, organize, elaborate and promote policies related to local development in a community.
This figure emerged in the 50s thanks to rural development and agrarian programs.
The president of the Associations of Local Development of the Region of Murcia, José Francisco Beltrán, one of the people in charge of presiding over the event, explained that through this day the figure of the agents of Local Development is made visible because "the people they know them by their names but they do not know what our functions are. "
The day was attended by the mayor of the municipal corporation, Manuel Padin, the Director General of the SEF, Severa González, the director of the ADLE, Fulgencio Cerón, technicians of the ADLE and agents of Local Development of several municipalities of the Region of Murcia.
