"Journey to a mother's room" (Spain, 2018) is the first feature film by the Spanish Celia Rico.
Superbly interpreted by Lola Dueñas and Anna Castillo, it tells the story of the young Leonor, who wants to leave home, but does not dare to tell her mother.
Estrella, her mother, does not want her to leave, but neither is she able to keep her by her side.
Mother and daughter will have to face this new stage of life in which their world in common wobbles.
The film won 4 nominations in the Feroz Awards (among them for best drama), 4 nominations in the Goya Awards (for best new director and best actress) and also won the Youth Award of the San Sebastian Film Festival.
The projection of this film fits into the programming of this quarter of the FICCMOTECA, organized jointly by the Department of Culture of the City of Cartagena, the Ramón Alonso Luzzy Cultural Center, the Cartagena Film Commission and the Cartagena Film Festival.
