The multinational manufacturer of power generators and power generation systems HIMOINSA, belonging to the YANMAR group, based in San Javier, has renewed its collaboration agreement with the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) for the training and recruitment of students of the School of Industrial Engineering.
"We select students to train them progressively through a first year of internships at our facilities in San Javier, an intensive English course abroad and a work contract that can be performed at any of the engineering centers that HIMOINSA has in America, Asia and Europe, says Francisco Gracia, Executive Director of HIMOINSA, who has attended the signing of the agreement with Jun Takashima, Executive Director at HIMOINSA, and Tetsuya Yamamoto, Managing Director at Yanmar Co., Ltd and President at Yanmar Energy System.
"HIMOINSA is a very important company for the economy of our region and of our entire country, as a company that has opted for its international expansion with products and services of high technological level and with which we have been collaborating for years, through our research groups and the implementation of practices by our students, "said Alejandro Diaz, rector of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena.
Along with him, the director of the School of Industrialists, Patricio Franco, thanked HIMOINSA "for its commitment to the training and incorporation of our graduates into its staff".
After several years of agreement there are many UPCT students who have completed their university education at HIMIONSA.
Some of them, such as José María Hernández and Javier Ortín, are part, to this day, of the engineering team of the productive center that the company has in the United States.
"We started at HIMOINSA in January 2016 and after several months of training we signed our contract in September.
Every three months we rotated through the different areas of the company, in order to learn the inner workings, "recalls José María Hernández, valuing his journey at HIMOINSA very positively.
Students of the last years of the degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Electronic Engineering, as well as the Masters in Industrial Organization, Industrial Engineering and Instrumentation, can be incorporated into this training plan, that a first year of internship in the company , an intensive English course during the summer months and a work contract, once the students have graduated, to develop both in the Region of Murcia and abroad.
The UPIE COIE and the Industrial School will schedule and pre-select the candidates according to their file and adaptation to the profiles demanded by the company.
The preselected ones will be submitted to the interview phase of the company.
YANMAR, the business group to which HIMOINSA belongs, joined this initiative in 2017. "The students dedicate two years of training in HIMOINSA Spain and then they go to the YANMAR production plants in Japan to finally rejoin some of the venues that the company has in Europe, "says Tetsuya Yamamoto, who reiterates the commitment that must exist between universities and companies to attract talent and generate employment.
