From this Thursday, March 14, the deadline for young people from Cartagena to participate in the second edition of the Expeura Program is open.
This initiative is organized by the Department of Youth of the City of Cartagena.
The project has 10 places for people under 30 who want to have a 3-month work experience in the United Kingdom.
This year, the Expeura Program pursues three objectives: to promote the personal and professional development of the young people of Cartagena, to promote their access to the labor world by completing their curriculum and developing their linguistic skills in English.
The 2019 call offers 10 places to work in the hospitality sector in the United Kingdom, although it can be extended to other sectors.
Participants will have the accommodation included in the hotel where they will work.
The stay will take place, predictably, from June to September 2019. During their stay in the United Kingdom, young people will have a day of between 30 and 40 hours per week.
Your salary will be between 1,200 and 1,500 pounds.
The councilman of Youth of Cartagena, David Martinez, added during the presentation of the program, that "there also have a training.
Apart from working, they are given language training. "
The mayor of Youth also commented that "not only serves to learn the language, but has helped them find a better job.
We believe that it is very important for youth unemployment that we still have in Cartagena.
It's another way out. "
The coordinator of the Youth Council, María del Mar Sánchez Amor, said that young people who participated last year in the Expeura Program "were very shocked by the issue of food.
They are not used to having a strong breakfast, a strong dinner and a snack at noon.
They have to adapt to working conditions and a way of life in the United Kingdom. "
The coordinator of the Department of Youth has indicated that young people who participate only have to take charge of travel expenses, and sign their employment contract in Cartagena, once tickets are secured to travel to the United Kingdom.
The deadline to submit applications begins on Thursday, March 14 and ends on Friday, March 29.
Those interested can complete the process through the website of the City of Cartagena.
