Last Tuesday the MC Cartagena spokesman, José López, together with the councilors and the president of the Cartagena training, Isabel García, Francisco Calderón and Jesús Giménez, held a working meeting with the director and the heads of the Research Chairs of Municipal and Environmental Infrastructures, arisen fruit of the collaboration and the good understanding between both entities in 2015 and 2017, respectively.

During the meeting, held at the Rectorate of the Polytechnic University and in which also participated students attached to the aforementioned Chairs, reviewed the actuality of the same, which today are developing the work of the second edition in Infrastructure, consistent in the search for improvements for issues such as energy recovery or sustainable urban mobility;

as well as the first in Environment, with which it is about optimizing aspects such as adaptation to climate change and the study of contaminated soils.

Joint project in which everyone adds and brings knowledge and dedication

In this sense, Lopez stressed that "we can talk about a work meeting and more than satisfactory balance, a joint project of hope, as I have seen first hand at the meeting, in which everyone adds and brings knowledge and dedication" .

Also, the Cartagena spokesman has stressed that "the spirit with which we created the Chair remains."

In this way, thanks to the impulse of MC, it was possible to apply the knowledge of the UPCT to the improvement of the municipal services and the quality of life of the people of Cartagena.

Pride of change in the relationship model with public universities

On the other hand, José López has been "proud" of the good work shown with the Chairs, as well as in other projects, which demonstrates the change, initiated by the Cartagena City Hall, in the relationship model with public universities, "that see in MC an ally to continue developing and growing as generators of opportunities for the future and a protagonist of the progress of the Region and of the entire Region ".

"In a few months we will have to articulate the formulas for the Chair to be annual and consolidate being outside the political game", added Lopez, who has also ensured that "we have the formula and in the next legislature the municipal contribution will triple with respect to to the current one, the first in which the City Council was integrated into this network of Chairs ".

Finally, the MC spokesman congratulated researchers and workers "who strive to get solutions together with municipal officials and, of course, the director of the Chair and students who have joined it."
