The Sociocultural Association Teatro Circo Apolo of El Algar, with the collaboration of the group 'Aladroque theater', La Pecera Cultural Activities and the City of Cartagena, through its Department of Culture, has convened for the fourth consecutive year the National Amateur Theater Competition of Cartagena, which will take place at the Teatro Circo Apolo in El Algar on May 31, June 7 and 8, with the closing and awards ceremony on Saturday, June 15.
From today until April 30, amateur theater groups from across the country and interested in participating, may submit their applications and the selected works will be represented during the contest.
The Councilor for Culture, David Martínez Noguera, encourages "all groups of amateur theater of the municipality to participate in this event so that we can demonstrate the great love that Cartagena feels for the theater".
All Spanish-speaking groups residing in Spanish territory may participate in this contest, as long as they are amateur.
All works must be represented in Spanish and directed to an adult audience.
Once the deadline for submitting applications has ended, the Selection Committee will proceed with the selection of the three finalist groups plus three reserve groups, taking into account the artistic values of the assemblies and the novelty of the submitted proposals.
