The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia has carried out the operation 'Miral', within the services aimed at protecting the Historical Heritage, which has been settled with the identification, location and investigation of a young man as alleged perpetrator of crime on the Historical heritage, to be painted in a hermitage of San Ginés de la Jara, a property declared BIC.
At the end of last year, Citizen Security Prevention and Nature Protection Service (SEPRONA) of the Civil Guard began the operation to investigate a series of damages that had been detected in a building declared of Cultural Interest of the municipality Cartagena
It was the realization of several graffiti graffiti on the walls of a hermitage dating from the sixteenth century and found in the set declared as BIC San Ginés de la Jara or Monte Miral.
The civil guards after detecting, in one of the preventive surveillance carried out in the area, that this type of damage had been committed in the property, initiated the corresponding investigation with the practice of a series of investigations that have allowed to identify a young man who allegedly was behind the authorship of the graffiti.
Once all the necessary evidence has been obtained, the civil guards have located and investigated the suspect, who has been instructed to act as the alleged perpetrator of a crime against the historical heritage.
Crime over historical heritage
The crime on historical patrimony is included in the Penal Code and is punishable by imprisonment from six months to three years, a fine of twelve to twenty-four months and, in any case, special disqualification for profession or trade for one's time. five years to which it demolishes or gravely alters buildings singularly protected by their historical, artistic, cultural and / or monumental interest.
The judges or courts may order, at the expense of the author of the act, the reconstruction or restoration of the work.
The investigated and the diligences instructed have been made available to the Court of Instruction of Cartagena (Murcia).
