MC Cartagena will demand tomorrow, during the session of the Plenary Session of the Neighborhood Board of El Albujón Miranda, that the restitution of the original course of the Rambla de Miranda will be executed at the height of the La Pedrera site.
The vocalist of the Cartagena formation, Cristóbal Sánchez, has indicated that "several agricultural owners of the area of La Pedrera have addressed our group to move the incidence that has suffered the course of the Rambla de Miranda at the height of the mentioned place."
After this, MC has verified that the natural channel of the aforementioned rambla has been altered and modified by an action of earthworks and the construction of retaining walls as it passes through plot 141.
This alteration of the channel goes back to several years ago, making clear the rains of the past months of November and December that, in spite of existing a sanctioning file opened by the Hydrographic Confederation of the Segura, the owner of the plot has not restored the situation to the primitive channel.
Also, the member of MC has shown that there has been "a control and monitoring by the CHS in compliance with the order to restore the channel to its originality," so the MC initiative will be directed to urge to the corresponding municipal services to transfer the agreement of the Plenary Assembly of the Neighborhood Board of El Albujón-Miranda to the Segura Hydrographic Confederation, so that it is responsible for watercourses and riverbeds, that it initiates or retakes the file of restitution of the channel of the Rambla de Miranda to its primary origin in the area of La Pedrera.
Study to improve road safety and traffic flow in the Santiago neighborhood
On the other hand, Sanchez will present an initiative to demand that the viability of improving road safety and traffic flow in the Santiago de Miranda neighborhood be studied.
Specifically, it demands that the Municipal Technical Department of Traffic travel to the confluence of the streets Rodrigo Caro, Francisco Rioja and Hermanos Machado, located in the aforementioned neighborhood, to study measures such as the prohibition to park on these roads and the placement of signals vertical and horizontal warning.
In this sense, the representative of MC explained that currently Rodrigo Caro street is enabled traffic with double meaning which, added to parked vehicles, makes it difficult for those who join both Francisco Rioja and those who access from the old road 301.
