- Lack of space, problems of air conditioning, absence of assembly hall, abandoned annexed lots, toilets not adapted for children, tiles that fall, chipped, unusable sports track, difficulties in access, furniture and children's games aged by time, among the main complaints of the center's management
Cartagena, Sunday, March 10.
Parents and professors of the Puig Campillo School have once again claimed one more year for repairs and improvements in the center's internal and external infrastructures in view of the multiple deficiencies and the new needs that have arisen in recent years due to the increase in enrollment.
One of the historical claims of the directive is a global solution for conditioning a Children's Pavilion that has 40 years with an internal reform that enables communication between classrooms and the adequacy of services whose measures are adult and are not adapted to children of 4 or 5 years old.
This pavilion has two spaces underutilized for years by some unfinished works.
"Another option that raises the center is the demolition of this pavilion and the creation of a new one that has at least four spaces for teaching," said the spokesman for Citizens in Cartagena, Manuel Padín, who has assured that he has already moved to its Parliamentary Group and the Cs working groups that are preparing the electoral program to include these needs.
As for the dressing room pavilion, Manuel Padín explained that it is an infrastructure built eight years ago, enabled only two years ago, "that nobody uses in the center, they have it in storage, and what they ask is something so sensible as it turns into a diaphanous room to give it a use that they do need, such as the assembly hall, a gym, or space for psychomotricity exercises ".
Depending on the budget availability, the spokesman of the liberal party believes it is appropriate to consider the construction of a new pavilion for these uses and a warehouse if the reform is undertaken.
The supply of drinking water two years ago
Citizens achieved in 2017 through a plenary agreement and after negotiations with Hidrogea that this educational center had potable water supply;
previously it was supplied with the reserved water of a nearby cistern with a more than doubtful potability index.
In addition, the orange training achieved the renovation, after 30 years, of the toilets of the students and teachers of the Primary Pavilion, "we were satisfied but it is not enough, that was something scandalous but today the tiles of the Primary hall are falling, there is chipped on the walls, lack of a good coat of paint, there is no air conditioning for the hottest months, drinking water sources do not work, the lots surrounding the school are a nest of infections and rats, and there is no adequate signaling the parking and the circulation in the accesses, neither maintenance of the green zones ".
In addition, improvement actions are required in the playground area for children, "there is no sandpit for the little ones and the furniture and games are worn out by time and lack of maintenance," says Manuel Padín.
Finally, the state of the sports track is deplorable, the lines for the practice of futsal, basketball, handball or volleyball have not been painted;
In addition, the basketball basket boards need to be replaced.
The arrangement of the exterior fencing, the improvement of the access road of vehicles to the center by the rear part of the terrain or of the firm of the rear part of the patio, and the renovation of the painting for the façade, classrooms and corridors are other of its main applications that do not find answers year after year.
