Cs Cartagena has registered today in the City Council a proposal to urge the Government of Spain to increase and equalize maternity and paternity leave and thus promote co-responsibility in the work of the parents.

The initiative, which will be registered in all the Spanish parliaments and municipalities where they have representation, asks the central government to guarantee the right of women to access employment, to professional promotion on equal terms without suffering discrimination based on sex.
On the other hand, it demands equal remuneration for work of equal value, avoiding any discrimination based on sex, and improving salary transparency and workers' access to information on the remuneration of their company, either through their representatives, or directly.
Cs also calls for the promotion, together with the rest of the Public Administrations, of a civic culture based on real equality between all people regardless of their sex, particularly in the workplace and professional sphere.
It is also necessary to improve the supervision and evaluation of the equality plans developed by companies according to the Law for Effective Equality of women and men, as well as encouraging their voluntary implementation by small and medium enterprises.
