During the inauguration of the fair, the president of the Catholic University, José Luis Mendoza, presented the second Ambulance of Desire, donated by the UCAM and its Nursing students, and which can be seen until Saturday at the Plaza de Héroes de Cavite, where 35 associations show projects in which the non-profit entities of the Comarca need collaborators to help groups at risk of social exclusion, people with disabilities or sick people in the Shire.
The president of the Catholic University San Antonio, José Luis Mendoza, the mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, the vicar of the area, José Abellán, the General Director of Family and Social Policy of the Autonomous Community, Miriam Pérez, and the president of The Port Authority, Joaquín Segado, today inaugurated the Second Volunteer Exhibition of Cartagena, promoted by the UCAM through its International Institute of Charity and Volunteering John Paul II and within the Days of Charity and Volunteering held in the two cities of the Region in which they have university campuses.
The exhibition can be visited from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and includes a stand and activities of 35 non-profit associations to which the Catholic University provides them with this showcase to expose Cartagena's activity that they develop and encourage them to dedicate part of their time to collaborate with them or become partners.
José Luis Mendoza stressed that this event "has the support of the new Dicastery for the Integral Human Development Service, created by the Pope, and is part of the collaboration we are doing with more than one hundred associations."
Coinciding with the inauguration, Mendoza has given the Ambulancia del Deseo Foundation a second vehicle donated by the UCAM and its Nursing students, which can be seen during this event.
For its part, the mayor has encouraged Cartagena to visit "this volunteer fair, which gives visibility to the entities that are collaborating" and stressed that "it is a pleasure for the City to continue collaborating with the UCAM and a Cartagena that whenever you are asked for help, it is there. "
In addition, the president of the Port of Cartagena has congratulated the UCAM for promoting assistance to those who arrive where the administrations do not arrive and the vicar has stressed that "with the magnificent educational and evangelizing work that the Catholic University is intimately united, the students not only get a technical training but also form people ".
