The mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, and the Councilor for Social Services, Mercedes García, received in the morning of today, March 5, those responsible for the Association of Lupus and Rare Diseases (AMLEA), with Carmen García as Delegate in Cartagena.
This group has been working for four years to sensitize society about the problems of suffering from this disease and already has offices in Murcia, Molina de Segura and Cartagena, which was recently created.
During the meeting, the first mayor was interested in the operation of this association as well as its main tasks.
Lupus is an autoimmune, chronic and inflammatory disease that affects more than 1,500 patients in the Region of Murcia.
