The X edition of the photography contest 'Pequeñas Miradas' of Cartagena, Puerto de Culturas already has winners.
The jury awarded the first prize to the snapshot 'Cucú', presented by Verónica Sáez Juliá, and the second prize to 'Uncertainty' by Carmen Martínez Martínez.
The councilor of the Culture and Tourism area, David Martínez Noguera, has highlighted both the quantity and the quality of the photographs that have participated this year.
"Many high quality images have been presented to the contest that have perfectly captured the objective of the contest, which is to capture the look, gesture or expression of the youngest members of the family, reflecting curiosity and innocence with that a girl or a boy enjoys a museum, site or interpretation center ".
Children playing, deciphering archaeological remains, jumping or strolling through millennial sites and imagining past stories, are some of the themes chosen by the authors of the images that have been presented and that have obtained a high evaluation of the jury.
Last 24 February the deadline to participate in the contest ended, and then, in later days, a jury of professionals from the world of photography and audiovisual communication, determined the failure of the winning snapshots of the first and second prize .
Said jury was formed by Pablo Sánchez del Valle, press photographer, by the graphic designer Pepe Sanmartín, the journalist María Sánchez-Luengo Leví, and technicians from Cartagena, Puerto de Culturas, who have valued creativity, style and good execution, selecting the 50 finalist images, among which are the first and second prize.
The winners of this tenth edition have been two wonderful snapshots in which the objective of the contest is completely reflected.
The prizes, which have been sponsored by El Corte Inglés, have an amount of 500 euros the first, 200 euros the second and 2 runners-up of 100 euros each, all of them in El Corte Inglés gift cards.
From March 11 to March 24, the winning images, along with the 48 remaining selected photographs, will be exhibited at the English Court of Cartagena, where the visiting public can vote for their favorite photograph among the latter, and thus choose the two runners-up.
The awards ceremony will take place at the shopping center facilities in Cartagena.
In this act, in addition, there will be a draw for a gift card of El Corte Inglés worth 100 euros among all people who have participated in the voting.
