The Conservatory of Music of Cartagena, has opened its doors this Tuesday, March 5, to 413 young students who have been able to see how the rehearsal of the IV edition of the Extraordinary Concert Between Strings and Metals takes place.
Students from CEIP Ciudad Jardín, CEIP Virgen del Carmen, IES Ben Arabí, Agave International School, CEIP Carthago, CEIP Virgen de Begoña and CEIP San Ginés de la Jara, could see first-hand how the musicians of the Symphony Orchestra of Cartagena, its director and the soloist of the extraordinary concert work for the assembly of the works that will be performed on Friday, March 8, at the El Batel Auditorium, enjoying from minute one until the end of the rehearsals and explanations that the Director Leonardo Martinez was giving them to the young people.
The violista of Granada, Ana Mba Flores, is the soloist of this fourth edition and has indicated that she "looks forward with great enthusiasm to this extraordinary concert as it is a personal challenge and an opportunity to enjoy the Cartagena Symphony Orchestra".

ANA MBA FLORES
Born in Granada in 1990, she finished her Middle School studies at the Professional Music Conservatory of Murcia with Antonio Clares.
He continued his studies as Superior with Ashan Pillai at the "Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya", with Ulrich Knörzer at the "Universität der Künste" in Berlin, and with Pauline Sachse at the "Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler" in Berlin, where he finished his Master's studies with Tabea Zimmermann.
He has studied chamber music with the Casals Quartet, Artemis Quartet, Shirley Brill, Wayne Foster-Smith and Jonathan Aner, among others.
It has been awarded in competitions such as the Extraordinary Prize "End of Middle Grade", First Prize "Between Strings and Metals" (2007), First Prize "Villa Molina" (2008), First Prize contest "City of Murcia" (2009) , First Prize "Concours Franco-Ibérique des Jeunes Altistes" (Perpignan, 2012) and "Bari International Music Festival Price" (Bari, 2013), which granted her the opportunity to perform within the "Bari International Music Festival" with such artists as Ettore Causa (Professor Yale University), Dennis Kim, among others.
His experience has been developed with orchestras such as the Youth Orchestra of the Region of Murcia, Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester, Schleswig-Holstein Orchestral Academy, Young National Orchestra of Spain, Rundfunk Sinfonie - Orchester Berlin, Deutsche Kammerorchester Berlin and Deutsche Oper Berlin, participating on tours of Europe and the US;
and performing in such venues as "Philharmonie" in Berlin, "Carnegie Hall", "Lincoln Center", "Musikverein", among others, under the baton of Virginia Martínez, Frühbeck de Burgos, Marek Janowski, Christoph Eschenbach, Thomas Hengelbrock, Günter Pichler, Donald Runnicles, among others.
She has been awarded a scholarship by several foundations, such as "Alexander von Humboldt Stiftung Foundation", (Berlin, 2012), "Musical Youth of Madrid", (Madrid, 2014), and "Galindo Foundation" (Murcia, 2013-2015).
She is currently a full professor of the Orquesta de la Comunidad Valenciana at the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía, and a founding member of Cammerata.
