On Monday, March 4, the registration period for the eleven infant schools in the municipality of Cartagena for the next school year 2019/20 has been opened and will remain open until April 3 for children between 4 months and 3 years.
The Councilor for Education, Mercedes García, has appeared before the media with the assistance of the directors of several schools in order to inform about all the news from the schools for this course, such as the new incorporation of the EIM La Aljorra, which has become part of the now eleven schools that make up the municipal network.
The inscriptions can be made through the website of the city council cartagena.es and will be formalized in the Nursery Schools themselves or in the EE.II Unit.
In addition, parents have on the website of the Department of Education, a price simulator to know the approximate cost to be paid for schooling.
During this term, the Municipal Government has managed to expand the number of seats to 877 with the possibility of expanding classrooms, compared to 699 in 2015. Three centers that had been privatized have also been recovered, the children's schools of La Palma, Pozo Estrecho and La Aljorra, but, the most remarkable thing is the reduction of the costs and registration and dining fees.
In addition, there are free places for children in situations of social risk, or children of families victims of gender violence with limited economic resources.
The EE.II.MM are educational centers that focus on the integral development of the students paying special attention to those children with special needs, with the collaboration of the Early Care Team, which visits the Centers periodically, as well as an educator in each school of Integration Support.
All centers have spacious classrooms, common rooms (dining room, multipurpose room, napping room ...), playground with facilities in perfect condition, equipped and adapted to the ages of children.
The food is prepared by professionals in each center with a menu adapted and supervised by a specialist in Nutrition and Dietetics, and this is sent to the parents with recommendations for dinners.
There is an educator per classroom, composed of 7 children from 4 to 12 months, 12 children from 1 to 2 years old and 19 children from 2 to 3 years old with an adaptation period and with a schedule of 8.30 hours to 15.30 which includes the dining room and nap and that has expansion from 7.30 to 16 hours for a better family reconciliation.
The teachers and educators of all the centers have degrees in Early Childhood Education, Higher Technician in Early Childhood Education or qualified for the 1st cycle of Early Childhood Education, all of them reinforced by support staff.
