The City of Cartagena, through its Councils of Social Services and Infrastructure, has acquired five new vehicles for an amount of 116,000 euros through the system of Centralized Purchase of State Heritage, thereby making their costs, vehicles that have been presented this Monday, March 4 in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, in an act that has had the mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, and the Councilor for Social Services, Mercedes García.
All of them are of the latest generation in their series and have the latest advances in Antipollution Control and CO2 Emissions (Euro 6B Standard) and in the Trajectory Control (Extended Grip).
Two of them come to renew the fleet of cars for the transport of Seniors to the Day Care Centers of Los Dolores and El Algar, the transport in these vehicles will be developed in full safety and comfort conditions.
It consists of two passenger vans adapted for people with reduced mobility.
This adaptation consists of the installation of an automatic access ramp in the rear part of the vehicle and some steps and safety handles in its lateral entrance.
Likewise, the vehicles are provided with non-slip floor and air conditioning.
The other vehicles purchased are smaller.
It consists of three four-passenger tourism vehicles plus a van with a large load capacity.
They come to expand the fleet of cars used for the displacement of Social Services professionals to the different Social Work Units of the districts and councils.
Along with these new vehicles, the Department already has 8 in its fleet, among which are the passenger cars for the transport of personnel next to the new adapted vans, which can carry up to two wheelchairs.
