The Municipal Group of Citizens denounces the passivity of the Government of Cartagena to comply with the plenary mandate of September 2016 that requires it to provide school nursery schools in Cartagena.
In 2017, the local executive excused the breach stating that a job exchange was being carried out, something that the councilor for Education, David Martínez, denied in June 2018 because, according to him, the definitive approval of the budgets of 2018 and the signing of an agreement with the College of Nursing of the Region of Murcia, "another falsehood, because we have seen that the approval of last year's accounts has not helped," says Manuel Padín.
For the local spokesman "this Government has not wanted to execute a plenary mandate for two and a half years that is viable, which is positive and is necessary to safeguard the health of our children."
"In more than two long years, has not been made the bag of nurses, or have addressed the College of Nursing of the Region of Murcia or the Ministry of Health to seek the advice and agreement that is required," laments Manuel Padín .
The spokesman for the Liberal Party argues that the proof that "with a little political will is possible everything is in the city of Murcia, there was approved in 2017 a similar motion presented (worth the irony) by the PSOE and the local government (of the PP) fulfilled its obligation and introduced a game of 125,000 euros for the seven infant schools of the neighboring municipality, "there the youngest students, those who have from 0 to 3 years, already benefit in public nurseries from the presence of these health professionals;
easy, fast and simple but here not, here we have been dragging our feet for two and a half years, a shame when year after year we have a surplus between 10 and 12 million euros, that is, money that has not been invested. "
A request of the College of Nursing of 2016
Citizens remember that the College of Nursing sent a letter in 2016 to all municipal groups of the Consistory requesting that they work to be budgeted in 2017 a game to implement progressively school nursing in the nine municipal nursery schools of the City.
"Having a nurse in municipal nursery schools is a vital improvement for families with chronic children and for the rest of the educational community, since education will be worked on for the health of the youngest children, avoiding long-term problems", defends Padín.
The Group of Citizens has announced that it will take this issue back to the next Plenary, "if they tell us that this time the final approval of the 2019 accounts is necessary, we will explode with indignation".
