As every year, the Carnivals of Águilas give different recognitions to people and / or entities that participate or have participated actively in the Carnival, as well as to companies and / or media that help to spread the same.
On this occasion, the president of the Federation of Troops and Legions, José Antonio Meca Martínez was named yesterday as Grand Master of the Cuerva de los Carnavales de Águilas, the person in charge of giving him the appointment was the President of the Peñas Federation Mr. José Alonso Navarro, and the Mayor of the city, Ms. María del Carmen Moreno Pérez gave him the Golden Mask.
José Antonio Meca, along with some of his managers was in the night of yesterday visiting the different places of the city tasting the cuerva, which is the typical drink of the carnival made with liquors and fruits, and as they say in Águilas " The drink of the Gods ", to then proceed to give the corresponding score, being escorted at all times by one of the aquiline rocks.
