The Naval Museum inaugurates the hall, as part of the program of commemorative activities organized by the Navy for the 482th anniversary of the Marine Corps.
The new museum room proposes a journey through the history of the Marine Corps and its most relevant characters, following a line of time that starts from 1537 to the present.
The common thread is the red stripes worn by the Marines in their uniform pants.
Inside this room a "temporary room" has been introduced, which in this inauguration, collects and recognizes the important activity of the Music Unit of the Tercio de Levante.
With this new room, which has been inaugurated by the mayor Ana Belén Castejón, the Naval Museum offers a space dedicated exclusively to the Marine Infantry, an important Corps of the Spanish Navy that is also the oldest in the world.
The event was chaired by the Chief Admiral of the Naval History and Culture Body, Juan Rodríguez Garat, who was accompanied by the Commander of the Navy Protection Force, Brigadier General Carlos Pérez-Urruti Pérez, as well as various authorities civil and military.
