One of the most anticipated events of the Carnival of Cartagena begins: the XVII edition of the Regional Contest of Chirigotas 'City of Cartagena' 2019. This Wednesday, February 27 at 9:00 pm begins the contest with the celebration of the first semifinal in the Auditorium El Batel.
Tickets are on sale at the ticket offices of the Nuevo Teatro Circo de Cartagena and El Batel, as well as on this link.
They have a price of 9 euros.
In the first semifinal, and in the same act five chirigotas: The Robinsons of the Island, Chirigota del Soto, Los Singuangos, Chirigota Cabezo de Torres and Chirigota de Roquetas.
Participants not only come from Cartagena and other points of the Region of Murcia, but also come chirigotas from other areas of Spain.
This is the case of the Chirigota del Soto, which comes from Albox (Almería) and the Chirigota de Roquetas, which comes from the Almería town of Roquetas de Mar. In addition, it is worth noting the presence of the Chirigota Cabezo de Torres, which is already Veteran in the contest, since he has been going to Cartagena for several years and leaving samples of his wit and humor.
The Regional Competition of Chirigotas 'City of Cartagena' 2019 continues on Thursday, February 28 at 9:00 pm with the Second Semifinal.
The final will take place on Friday, March 1 at 8:00 p.m.
It will be able to be seen in streaming through Youtube, with a signal from the City of Cartagena and Radio Cartagena Cadena SER.
