Cartagena will host on 11 and 12 May the VII Edition of the Manga and the Japanese Culture of Cartagena organized by the Department of Youth of the City of Cartagena in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, which is now among one of the most important of its category at the national level.
The event will feature more than 200 activities related to the world of manga, Japanese culture, alternative cultures and video games.
This Wednesday, February 27, there has been the presentation of the poster and the progress of its activities in the Palace Hall by the Councilor for Culture, David Martinez, along with the Director General of the Institute of Cultural Industries and the Artes, Marta López-Briones, in addition to the Salon director, Antonio Álvarez and his brother, Juan Álvarez, Artistic Director and Coordinator.
The event was also attended by four guests who are cosplayed with characters who have illustrated the spirit of the room with their elaborate costumes.
This edition will be held in a new location in the Wsell Municipal Sports Pavilion in Guimbarda.
"This year is expected to exceed the number of visitors last year with 10,000 attendees," says the councilman.
That is why the stage has been changed to cover more space for the large influx of visitors and activities to offer, better organized thanks to the facilities of the pavilion, which has multiple rooms and tracks.
The programmed activities will go from meetings with artists, Cosplayers and Youtubers, craft workshops, cultural exhibitions and talks, to concerts, videogame tournaments or commercial spaces.
It will again feature two stages, one external and the other internal, for shows, among which is the well-known K-Pop and anime singer, Hyomin, which is expected to have two concerts, one on Saturday and the other on Sunday.
In the previous edition, the Hall received the visit of more than 9,000 people, and had the presence and collaboration of 32 exhibiting companies, 10 associations and several artists and authors of national renown.
'Cartagena se Re-Manga' has already gained a space among the great national salons of its category, surpassing in visitors, activities, acceptance and cultural offer to several of the largest cities in Spain.
Tickets are already on sale on the website of 'Cartagena is Re-Manga' with a price of 10 euros for the payment of two days (Saturday and Sunday) or separately, 6.5 euros for Saturday and 5.5 euros for on Sunday.
They can also be purchased at the box office on the days of the event.
