- It is a historical claim of the municipality now collected by Citizens, "because we are at a key moment with the studies to expand the operational capacity of the Port of Cartagena and the approval of the agreement for the development of the future Logistics Activities Zone", says the spokesman for Citizens in Cartagena, Manuel Padín
Cartagena, Wednesday, February 27.
Cs Cartagena today formalized the request to its Parliamentary Group to urge a study on the economic and technical suitability of moving all or part of the internal customs house that the Chamber of Commerce of Murcia has in Sangonera la Seca to the future logistics area of Los Camachos.
The orange training spokesman, Manuel Padín, believes that it is "more than interesting to explore this possibility so that companies in Cartagena and the Region of Murcia increase their competitiveness, gain operational capacity, and enhance the external transport activities in the Community and intermodality. "
It is a historical claim of Cartagena that has been claimed by many political parties, the first being the Cantonal Party.
Ciudadanos now joins because it considers that it is the right time, "tomorrow's Board of Governors will take the agreement for the development of the future Logistics Activities Zone to be approved, the Port of Cartagena has initiated a key phase for the expansion of its operative capacity and the project of the derivative in the integration of the AVE in Cartagena that is linked to the Mediterranean Corridor, has arrived therefore the moment to order the study that needs the economic and technical viability of moving the customs area ".
For Manuel Padín, "from Cs Cartagena we consider that our municipality is the ideal area for this site where nearly 9,000 annual movements are carried out, but we want to validate this political impression with the mandatory technical report before taking the next step, which should be, the search for political consensus and the regional budget allocation with the help of the Port Authority ".
Citizens explains that it is a strategic decision of draft, "that's why we want to lead it we have shown that we always work with foundation, calm and forcefulness, step by step and carrying reasons," said the spokesman for Cs who says that the first step is to request the feasibility study, and then, if the transfer is technically and economically advised, present the project to the different state and regional agencies that are linked in the customs area as the Customs Administration, which depends on the Tax Agency;
the Service of Regulation, Inspection, Surveillance and Regulation of Exports (Soivre), of the Ministry of Industry;
the area of Plant Health, the Ministry of Transition Ecology, the area of External Health, the Ministry of Health or the Civil Guard detachment and, of course, the Chambers of Commerce of Murcia and Cartagena.
"We have already shown with the ZAL of Cartagena that working with head and tangible facts through proposals for study and then legislative, sooner or later you achieve your goals," says Padin who recalls "that until Cs came to the Regional Assembly the ZAL of Los Camachos was just a mere pre-electoral municipal demand. "
The current customs
The customs area was built by the Chamber of Commerce of Murcia with a budget of three million euros and was opened in November 2009 in Sangonera la Seca, previously had other locations such as Nonduermas and Blanca.
