More than 1,500 people attended last night on Monday, February 25 at the Drag Queen National Contest 'Ciudad de Cartagena', the busiest to date, which was held at the Central Sports Pavilion.
The mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, did not want to miss this very popular event belonging to the Carnival celebrations, accompanied by the Councilman of Celebrations, Juan Pedro Torralba and Culture, David Martínez.
With this edition, it is the fourth time that this contest of national scope is celebrated in Cartagena to which a total of ten candidates from cities such as Badajoz, Madrid, Torrevieja and San Javier as well as Cartagena were presented.
This year there were five local participants, a record number in all its editions.
The contestants filled the stage of the pavilion with color and brightness with their creations as well as choreographic dances.
In order to culminate the gala, the eurovision singer, winner of Operación Triunfo 1, Rosa López, performed several of her songs.
The celebration of carnival celebrations will continue this Tuesday and Wednesday with a parade through the city center starting at 7 pm and with the celebration of the first semifinals of the XVII Chirigotas Regional Competition in El Batel.
