Two of the supply operations were carried out for the first time in the port of Ferrol.
Since the beginning of its activity in 2014, Repsol has supplied nearly 2,500 m3 of LNG for its use as fuel, efficiently and safely.
This month, Repsol carried out four new operations in the ports of Cartagena and Ferrol of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to two ships for use as fuel.
The development of the LNG supply business as maritime fuel, in short and long term contracts, is one of Repsol's key areas in its strategy to provide energy solutions to its customers.
Repsol has reached a new milestone and consolidates its position as a supplier of LNG as a fuel for vessels, having supplied in the last five years about 2,500 m3 to 13 different vessels.
Specifically, in this bunker operation managed by Repsol, and developed with the collaboration of Enagás, Reganosa, the Port Authorities of Cartagena and Ferrol, Molgas, as well as the company Redwise Maritime Services, responsible for managing the voyage of these vessels from the shipyard, approximately 215 m3 of LNG in Cartagena and 180 m3 of LNG in Ferrol have been supplied to the Huftarøy and Samnøy vessels, belonging to the ship-owner Torghatten Nord and from the Turkish shipyard Tersan Shipyard and bound for Norway.
With these new operations, Repsol expands its registry of ports where it has carried out operations, confirming its capacity to supply LNG bunkers in any Spanish peninsular port.
LNG is an ecological fuel that does not generate emissions of sulfur oxides (SOx) or particles (PM).
It also reduces nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions by 90% and CO2 emissions by 20%.
These characteristics allow it to comply with the regulations of the IMO 2020 and the emission reduction objectives, aligned with Repsol's commitments.
