"The Government has not known how to match their desire to open children's areas with priority maintenance work, with the arrangement and security of those that exist," says the Citizens spokesman
"The irrepressible run of inaugurations of zones and children's parks, including Pocoyo, in the municipality contrasts radically with the dangerous abandonment of the spaces that already exist", lamented today the spokesman of Cs Cartagena, Manuel Padín,
The spokesman of Cs visited this week, accompanied by the president of the Association of Neighbors of El Bohío, Alberto Gómez, the children's area that is located in the Antonio de Cabezón street in El Bohío, "I have seen more pleasant and accessible torture rooms , just looking at it depresses you, is something devastating, "denounces the Cs spokesman who describes this space as" a symbol of the apathy and indifference of the City Council and its contempt for maintenance work. "
The playground has raised the quilted pavement with the danger that this entails for children who make use of the only two and completely deteriorated games found there, "and does not meet the minimum security requirements," says Padin who reports which will ask in the next Plenary for the preventive closure of this space and that a project for its preparation be already drafted.
Cs criticizes that the Government has been in recent days publicly boasting that in these last two years has promoted the creation of playgrounds and has invested 1.4 million euros, "but the reality is that this money has been allocated only to the construction of new services, something we celebrate as it can not be otherwise, but for the maintenance of desolate and dangerous spaces for our children, and without a square meter of shade like the one that exists in El Bohío, the one that located in the Media Legua (it is known as the park of horrors), in the Plaza de Feliciano Sanchez de Barrio de Peral, known as "Las Buhardillas", or in Torreciega among many others, not a single euro has gone ".
"The Government has not known how to match their desire to open spaces for the elections of 2019 with the priority maintenance work, with the arrangement and security of those that exist", says Manuel Padín who recalls that the Plenary session of February 2017 agreed to the proposal of Cs the general review of all the playgrounds of the municipality, to ensure that they comply with European regulations on safety and health, and another plan to provide shade to these spaces, "agreements disregarded year after year by the PSOE".
This agreement included a point by which the local Executive is obliged to develop a municipal ordinance that compiles European regulations on safety in children's areas, including measures of accessibility and integration for those infants with a mental or physical disability.
"After two years since the agreement, this Municipal Group has no evidence that these facilities have been reviewed or that the ordinance that should regulate their safety is being prepared," lamented Manuel Padín.
