The Board of Directors of the company, which has chaired the Secretary of State for Infrastructure, Transport and Housing, has approved the continuation of the necessary actions for the arrival of high speed through the current access corridor.
It will be done by guaranteeing its compatibility with urban railway integration solutions, in particular with that contemplated in the current information study.
Likewise, it has been agreed to propose to the Ministry of Development the drafting of a new information study of a variant for the transport of merchandise that connects with the Escombreras dock and the industrial zone of Los Camachos, avoiding passage through urban sections.
The Secretary of State for Infrastructure, Transport and Housing, Pedro Saura, has chaired the Board of Directors of the Cartagena Alta Velocidad company, where a series of agreements have been adopted to promote the remodeling of the Arterial Ferroviaria de Cartagena Network.
Saura has shown his satisfaction with the disposition of all the administrations involved and with the agreement reached that he has valued positively.
On the same has said that "part of a regional project and a city project for Cartagena."
This call responds to the commitment of the Ministry of Development to favor the actions necessary to connect Cartagena to the high-speed network.
In this way, and in compliance with the decisions adopted at the meeting of the Board of Directors of the company held in July 2018, the Ministry of Development has presented today the study of high-speed access alternatives to the city.
In this sense, the Board of Directors has agreed to give continuity to the actions necessary for the arrival of high speed through the current access corridor, guaranteeing its compatibility with urban rail integration solutions, in particular with that contemplated in the informative study. valid.
Likewise, it has been agreed to propose to the Ministry of Public Works the drafting of a new informative study of a variant for the transport of merchandise that connects with the dock of Escombreras of the port of Cartagena and the adjacent industrial zone (Los Camachos).
This prevents the passage of goods through urban sections.
The estimated cost of this infrastructure is estimated at around 75 and 88 million euros.
On the other hand, the Board of Directors of the company has also approved the appointment of new directors, as well as the report on its economic-financial situation.
