The Fiestas de Carnaval de Cartagena start on Saturday, February 23, with the proclamation and the election of the Queen of Carnival.

The mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, will be in charge this year of pronouncing the proclamation at 9 pm at the Central Sports Pavilion.

After the proclamation, will proceed to the presentation of candidates for Carnival Queen, dialogue of Don Carnal and Doña Cuaresma, choreography groups, chirigotas and finally the election and proclamation of the Carnival Queen of Cartagena and its Ladies.
