On Friday, February 22, the ceremony for the reception of the sixth maritime action ship "Furor" (P-46) took place at the Muelle de la Curra with the celebration of a ceremony presided over by the Admiral of Interim Maritime Action (ALMART). and Vice Admiral Juan L. Sobrino Pérez-Crespo.
The councilor for Social Services, Mercedes García, as well as numerous civil and military authorities attended the event.
After the arrival of the authorities and the guests, the temporary ALMART directed on board some words of welcome to the crew, and then a guided tour of the ship's facilities, such as the commander's office, the control room or the infirmary.
Subsequently, the Admiral landed to greet relatives.
With this act, the ship is integrated into the Command of Maritime Action Units in Cartagena, setting its base in the Arsenal.
The "Furor" is the second of the two ships of the extension of the first series of the BAM program of the Spanish Navy and was delivered to this on January 21 in Ferrol.

The missions for which the maritime action ship is conceived are, on the one hand, maritime security in low intensity scenarios, with a capacity to dissuade and react to asymmetric or conventional threats, and on the other, to protect national maritime interests, collaborating with the state security forces and other ministerial departments, in surveillance missions, rescue, humanitarian aid, fight against illegal traffic or fight against marine pollution.
