Murcia Open Future, the initiative of technological entrepreneurship promoted by Telefónica, the Institute of Development of the Region of Murcia, the Chamber of Commerce of Cartagena and the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, seeks to cover up to 10 seats in its space Crowdworking Carthago, which is located in the ELDI building of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT).
"The only workspace of Murcia Open Future, Carthago crowdworking, is integrated with the rest of the entrepreneurship initiatives of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, which we want to be a reference node in the Region for innovation activities that solve problems or generate needs to create, improve or transform business, "said the rector of the UPCT, Alejandro Díaz, during the presentation.
The call, open until March 20, is aimed at startups, entrepreneurs, or students of the latest courses of university degrees of a motivated technological nature who want to bet on innovative solutions based on IoT, Blockchain, location control systems, Ethereum or combinations of them.
This call for innovation will give priority to technological solutions with integration perspectives in the challenge defined by the company Syscomed, a benchmark in digital transformation, consisting of the location of cargo containers, the monitoring of their internal conditions and the use of Ethereum to determine payment terms wallet-to-wallet.
The initiative seeks to add value to the Port of Cartagena through big data and artificial intelligence technologies, as explained by the manager of Syscomed, Juan Celdrán.
"The challenge is to monitor the logistics of containers in the Port with IoT devices to record environmental traceability in an inviolable chain, allowing automation and resolving litigation with insurers," he summarized.
All the selected proposals will enjoy a 4-month program during which they will receive mentoring services, entrepreneurship training, promotion thanks to Telefónica's Open Future global network, they will be able to share knowledge with other participants in Murcia Open Future-Crowdworking Carthago and will have the opportunity to present their projects to managers of the company Syscomed and publicly in a demo-day.
After this initial phase, the proposals that best respond to the Syscomed challenge will be able to enjoy another 4 additional months of acceleration, during which they will have the support of experts, spaces, materials and technology from Syscomed.
Those responsible for the winning project may opt for a contract for the commercial exploitation of the technology developed during the acceleration period in the Crowdworking Carthago, be hired as staff in Syscomed staff and earn a check of 2,000 euros.
"We hope that many other companies launch challenges to the entrepreneurs of Crowdworking Carthago," said the regional director of Telefónica, which has four other similar entrepreneurship spaces in the rest of Spain.
Murcia Open Future is an initiative of Telefónica, the INFO Region of Murcia, the Chamber of Commerce of Cartagena and the UPCT.
