MC Cartagena yesterday held a working meeting with the board of directors of the Association of Hospitality and Tourist Accommodation Companies of Cartagena y Comarca (Hostecar), headed by its president, Juan José López.
At the meeting, which took place at Hostecar's headquarters, the councilors José López, Isabel García, María José Soler, Ricardo Segado and Francisco Calderón attended, along with the president, Jesús Giménez.
Among the issues dealt with by the representatives of MC and Hostecar are those that concern mainly the tourism and hospitality sector when not finding solutions in the socialist government of Castejón, "we can not stop pushing Cartagena, even more so before the abandonment of the local government" said López.
Noise ordinance
Also yesterday it was known that the local government has convened, for Thursday, February 21, the municipal groups to pronounce on the Noise Ordinance.
Lopez said that the vote of MC will be "no", because "the Government has called us to address the Noise Ordinance two days before having to vote."
"That is why our vote will be no, because of that and because Castejón and his team have prepared it with their backs to all those interested," added the mayor.
The spokesman of the training Cartagena revealed that the ordinance "among other deficiencies, does not listen to the sector, vetoes the small format concerts promoted by entrepreneurs and does not respond to social conflict or neighborhood complaints, something that adds to the blockade socialist to work together at the table of the Pact at Night. "
It should be mentioned that the Government of Castejón has not contemplated the limitation of sound to all municipal festivals, such as La Mar de Músicas or Mucho Más Mayo, as well as other events such as the Cruces de Mayo.
Tourist planning
Regarding the poor tourism planning of the municipality, "we are clear that there is a lack of professionalism in municipal management".
In particular, regarding the Costa de Cartagena brand, "we regret that the performance of the socialist government has been limited to presenting a brochure in FITUR, without further ado, while still not entrusting the Master Plan endowed with funds by MC through an amendment to the budgets of 2018, "said José López.
Other issues dealt with the need to promote the recovery of Cartagena tourism symbols such as windmills or the Amphitheater, as well as promoting the celebration of Santa Marta Day from the municipal level, which serves to give know the hotel offer.
Easter chairs
The proposal made by MC, and shared with processionist collectives, to optimize the management of the chairs during Holy Week was also discussed again.
Lopez said that, thus, "the poor aesthetics would be improved and the economic performance for the Cofradías would be greatly increased, taking as a model the successful experience of Málaga".
Hostecar, after meeting with the Elderly Brothers, proposed to assume this management and professionalize it, an initiative that has found the silence of the local Executive, which will prevent this year from improving a management that aims at improvisation because two months after the start of Holy Week the Chairs are without tender.
