More than 800 registered participated this Sunday, February 17, in the seventh edition of the Trail of La Aljorra 'Popular Race of Almendro and Garbancillo de Tallante', which for the first time was part of the circuit of popular races Murcia Region Running Challenge.
Sports Councilman, Manuel Mora did not want to miss this sporting event in which he honored the neighbor of La Aljorra, Julian Garcia Maldonado, assiduous participant and collaborator of these days, who died two months ago while making a route through the Sierra Nevada.
Neighboring participants and friends wore commemorative shirts in their honor during the day.
The development of the three tests began at 10 o'clock in the morning with departure on the football field of La Aljorra, among which was the competitive scoring test for the Running Challenge.
After the competition ended, there was a party with music in the Nueva Aljorra where a minute of silence was observed as a tribute to Julián García and, later, the presentation of prizes and trophies to all the winners.
