The president of the UCAM and the Cartagena Football Club UCAM have inaugurated the exhibition in which until May 21 you can see a wide collection of photographs of players, coaches, presidents and masseurs who have made history in Cartagena football, as well as trophies, tickets, balls, boots that have been compiled to keep alive the memory and the origins of the Cartagena FC UCAM.

The legacy of one hundred years of Cartagena football, which could well be part of a museum, can be visited in the auditorium of the Campus of the UCAM in Los Dolores until May 21, after today's emotional inauguration of the exhibition of the centenary of the Cartagena Fútbol Club in which the current staff of the club have been present along with historical players and managers.

The event was attended by the president of the Catholic University San Antonio, José Luis Mendoza, the club president, José Gómez Meseguer, the General Director of Sports of the Autonomous Community, Alonso Gómez López, the president of the Murcia Football Federation, José Miguel Monje, and the Councilman of Sports of the City of Cartagena, Manuel Mora.

With this exhibition there is a journey through history, which has thrilled those present as visitors will see a sample of photographs of players of all decades, tickets, membership cards, signage and old balls, merchandising (keychains, pin , ...) and other memories with the different shields that the club has had, as well as a boot with a 1929 wooden sole.

The exhibition also hosts the different equipment that has dressed the legendary club's players like Pedro Cordero, Ricardo Ciudad, Alejandro Sagarduy, Perico Arango, or goalkeepers Paco López or Juanmi, until they reach the centenary kit, which recreates the oldest one that has been recorded and that today the 500 young people of the 25 teams of different ages of which the club is composed today.

Project to expand the Sports City

The four soccer fields in which today Cartagena FC UCAM has had its headquarters (the Plaza de España, Almajar, Cartagonova and the Ciudad Deportiva Gómez Meseguer) also have their space in the itinerary of a sample that can be visited by appointment. previous.

The memories of the history of this club, which has played 15 seasons in the Second Division, 9 in 2ªB and 36 in Third, end with the plans of a great project for the future: the expansion of the Sports City in which it currently carries out a great work of teaching this sport with the bases, which is pending funding from administrations.
