The Extraordinary Concert Between Strings and Metals celebrates its sixth edition on a day of special importance as it is International Women's Day, March 8.
This event, framed within the twenty-second edition of the Contest Between Strings and Metals organized by the Department of Youth of the City of Cartagena and the Conservatory of Music of Cartagena and in which the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, will take place in El Batel Auditorium and Conference Center, at 8:30 p.m.
"The Strings and Metals Competition - which has more than 200 applications this year - is regional in nature and has contributed in these 22 years to the successful discovery of young music talents who are currently developing a career in and out of of our country.
In addition, it has served as an instrument for the promotion of classical music among the youngest ones, resulting in the appearance of projects recently initiated as a result of this contest ", said the Councilor for Youth, David Martínez, in the presentation of the Extraordinary Concert.
Leonardo Martínez, director of the Symphony Orchestra, explained that "we must continue to bet on these cultural initiatives that give value to tourism and culture in general."
This eighth edition of the concert will be the soloist of the winner of the X edition between Strings and Metals, Ana Mba Flores.
The violist from Granada together with the Cartagena Symphony Orchestra, formed by 45 musicians, will pay tribute to Clara Schumann, a nineteenth-century German pianist and composer, world premiering the arrangement of her work 'Piano Trio OP.

In addition, the 'Concert for Viola and Orchestra', by Hoffmeister and the 'Symphony No. 3', by Mendelssohn, will be performed on the Batel stage.

Born in Granada in 1990, she finished her Middle School studies at the "Conservatorio Profesional de Música de Murcia" with Antonio Clares.

She is currently a full professor of the Orquesta de la Comunidad Valenciana at the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía, and a founding member of Cammerata.
