"The goal of this new room is to renew our library to make it more attractive to young people of Cartagena," said the councilman of Youth, David Martinez, referring to one of the various renovations that the library has had, such as the change of furniture that was made in the Book Presentation Room.
M.ª Carmen Rodal, responsible for Libraries and Documentation, explained that the idea of creating this room arose so that "young people have a space designed and prepared for them."
The idea of separating the works destined to the young audience from the rest of the titles of the library was carried out by Caridad Beldá, a technician of the Cultural Center, who has been in charge of the distribution of this new space, which is located on the first floor of the Luzzy.
The space was designed according to the demands and tastes of the boys and girls who went to the library or visited.
"Previously, these youth-themed titles were in a simple bookcase and are now separated by genres, in addition, this room has a comic book dedicated exclusively to comics and manga, as well as several music and movie shelves also distributed by categories and two shelves with the literary and cinematographic novelties ", has qualified Caridad Beldá.
In addition, this room has many sofas where you can read quietly and points of power so that they can charge their mobile devices.
The head of Libraries and Documentation has concluded that "the boys have committed to spread among their peers the experience of today in the library for their colleagues to know this space."
