This afternoon the mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, has inaugurated, in the Juan Carlos I Park of Nueva Cartagena, the new children's playground dedicated to Pocoyó.
Castejón was accompanied by the Councilor for Public Services, Juan Pedro Torralba, the mayor of Seguridad Ciudadana, Manuel Mora and the president of the Association of Residents of the neighborhood, Antonio Molina.
Dozens of children with their parents have gathered at the inauguration, which has also been attended by Pocoyo himself, who has been warmly greeted by the children and has taken photos with him.
Before the inauguration, the mayor addressed the children there gathered to tell them that the games have been set up so that they can also be used by people with disabilities and can also play with them in an inclusive way and stimulating their development and learning.
He also recalled the commitment of the municipal government for the leisure of children and neighborhoods councils.
The playground of New Cartagena was one of the projects of the Participatory Budgets of 2018, which had requested the neighbors and has had an execution budget of about 77,500 euros.
Its execution has been carried out by the company Saludes Parques Infantiles, SL, according to the design of the municipal technical architects, Begoña Jiménez and Ricardo Carrillo.
Like the recently inaugurated one in the Polygon of Santa Ana, it is themed and has a quilted pavement of colors in all its near 400 square meters of surface.
Along with the usual swings, rockers, wheels and climbing nets, the area has other specific ones for children with sensory stimulation by touch.
